About Society 6
If you’re a fan of independent artists as well as home decor, then you’re most likely a fan of the place they collide – Society6. If not, as a quick summary, Society6 is a platform that allows indie artists to upload their work, and get a commission from it being printed on pillows, phone cases, shower curtains, etc and sold to us decor lovers. While it may not be best for them in terms of a pure profit, the exposure from the audience on Society6 alone is a great boost for many artists. Now, let’s dive into something i’m really excited about, new Society6 furniture.
The Launch
Recently, Society6 launched “The Furniture Collection”. The pieces range from credenzas to benches to bar stools and feature unique prints from various artists. One thing I love about Society6 is the attention they pay to quality in comparison to some other custom print sites. I’ve only previously ordered pillows and wall hangings, but they’ve been amazing representations of the artist’s work. So, I can only imagine that they took the time to develop these pieces with quality construction in mind as well.
Initially, I thought these pieces may only be available as a “collaboration” with certain artists on the site, but after browsing, I see that thousands of patterns are available from tons of artists, just as the regular items are. They even offer thorough instructions for assembling items such as the mid-century modern inspired credenza.
Even outside of the design of the patterns and prints, I love the actual furniture design that the team at Society6 created as the base of each piece. They all give me vintage home decor vibes.
You can shop the full collection here. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the pieces! Also, browse some vintage home decor that will go perfectly with this furniture!
